Fear is described as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.
Author Brittany Carr describes FEAR as False Evidence Appearing Real, an illusion that people create in their minds and convince themselves is real.
Fear makes us not do what we ought to do. Fear makes us not try anything. Fear makes us make wrong decisions with lifetime impact.
Fear is one of the main tools of the enemy to keep us on leash.
Fear makes us live a saltless and lightless life before the Lord.
Examples of scriptures where the servants of the Lord let fear take control:
Matthew 25:25 - I was AFRAID I would lose your money, so I hid it on the earth.
Matthew 14:26 - When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were TERRIFIED. In their FEAR, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!
1 Samuel 15:24 - King Saul admitted to Samuel, “Yes, I have sinned. I have disobeyed your instructions and the Lord’s command, for I was AFRAID of the people and did what they demanded
President Nelson Mandela in his autobiography LONG WALK TO FREEDOM says: "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it".
The number one enemy of fear is Faith. These two don't like each other. They do not get along.
Faith is described as being sure what we hope for and certain what we do not see.
Many times in his earthly, journey Jesus describes his followers as people of little faith: Matthew 14:31 - John 11:40 - Matthew 8:26
The word of God is questioning us: when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith? Luke 18:8
