Opening:
Psalm 73: But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.

Praise: Awesome God, Mighty God (Min Psalmson Allotey)

SCRIPTURES: Genesis 4:1-15
The two first brothers of the creation were in the presence of God and were conscient of the presence of God in their lives.
Cain was a farmer. Abel was a shepherd. The two brothers surely cherished each other.
When comes time to worship and honor their God, both brother made offering to the Lord with what they have.
Cain the farmer offered some of his harvest.
Abel offered the fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock.
Cain offering was not acknowledged by the Lord with mention "you can do better my beloved son".
Abel offering was approved by the Lord as a pleasant perfume to the Lord.
The question here is: WHY GOD APPROVES ONE OFFERING AND NOT THE OTHER?
From the creation of humanity, God is teaching us that:
He is enough by himself. He does not need any human beings to be who he is: a Sovereign Holy Spirit. ISAIAH 66.
Everything visible or invisible belongs to him, our life belongs to him. John 1:3 - John 14:6.
Therefore, there is nothing that we can offer to God to please him but our heart.
Cain offered some of his harvest.
Abel also offered some of his flock.
The issue is in the way, the intention and the motive.
Cain has offered what was common, probably some left over. But Abel has offered the best of his flock.
Abel did not think about the economical cost. His only motive was to give the Best of what he had, to his father and God he loves so much, to his father and God he put First. Matthew 6:33.
Nothing is hidden before the Lord. He knows the intention of our heart. The Lord does not expect nothing than the Best from each of us.
The Lord made each of us for a purpose. Jeremiah 1:5
The Lord is so Merciful and Graceful, that he always gives us an opportunity to repair/restore our negligent wrong doing.
He said to Cain the farmer: I love you and you can do better my son. But watch out.
Unfortunately Cain heart became full of anger and jealousy toward his brother.
We all know the end of the story: Genesis 4.
What a very sad life story; two hard working brothers.

The closing question is: WHO DO WE LABOUR SO HARD FOR DAILY?
