*1 Kings 16:29-31* – “In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri became king over Israel; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria *twenty-two years*. 30 Now *Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him*.”


 

 

*2 Corinthians 4:4* – “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 *whose minds the god of this age (Satan) has blinded, who do not believe*, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of *Christ, who is the image of God*, should shine on them.”

*Reflections*

1.     Ahab is representative of this present generation that is so bold to sin.

2.     He encouraged the people he was called to lead to disregard the worship of the true God, and instead, serve foreign gods.

3.     As a leader, Ahab was blind to the purpose (*what you do*), vision (*what you see*) and the power (*what you have*) of the kingdom of God.

4.     Some leaders at various levels in our society are guilty of the same. These include:

a.     Fathers leading our families.

b.     Elders leading our communities.

c.     Managers and corporate executives leading our corporations.

d.     Ministers leading our congregations.

e.     Prime ministers and presidents leading our nations and countries.

f.      Coalition of Heads of states leading globally.   â€¨  

                          

5.     ‘*According to Our likeness*’ means ‘_to function like_.’

6.     The blindness of a leader’s mind results in leadership dysfunction.

 

*_Leadership Dysfunction_*




*Matthew 15:14* – “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”


 

*Reflections*

1.     Ahab was a blind leader leading the blind citizens of Israel.

2.     One of the tragedies of modern leadership is that we have ‘blind’ leaders leading ‘blind’ followers.

3.     Leaders are jettisoning timeless principles for flaky experimentations. E.g., same sex marriage, gender reassignments etc. Just for the records, the consequences of violating established laws of nature can be dire.

Father, I come against the veil causing blindness in the heart and minds of our leaders. Lord, cause our leaders to acknowledge those you are raising to be ‘eyes’ to them IJN.

*Romans 8:19*  - “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.”


 

*Reflections*

1.     Who are the sons of God?

2.     *Romans 8:14*  - “For as many as are *led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God*.”

3.     Leaders without the Spirit of leadership are only leading people into perils which would be evident sooner or later.


 

*Prayer Point 2*

Father, I pray for our leaders at all levels – fathers, elders, corporate executives, ministers, prime ministers, presidents, and heads of state; that they will experience the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ: the eyes of their understanding being enlightened. 



 

Let the sons of God, made in the image and after the likeness of God, arise and lead boldly and courageously in the different areas of our society and nations IJN.

20 For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.Ӊ۬

 

*John 16:12-14* - “I [still] have many more things to say to you, but they are too much for you [you cannot bear them] now. 13 But when *the Spirit of truth* [the Helper] comes, *He will lead [guide] you into all truth*. He will not speak his own words [from his own authority; from himself], but he will speak only what he hears [from the Father], and he will tell [announce/declare to] you what is to come. 

 

14 The Spirit of truth will bring glory to [glorify; honour] me, because he will take what I have to say [ is mine] and tell [announce; declare] it to you.”
