Topic: PART 4: BECOMING GOD’S BATTLE AXE – Knowing The Word “God’s word”
Content:
In the art of war there are soldiers. Same to the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11- 12 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: We are different but we are using the same spirit – The Holy Spirit and the WORD of God. Because you are walking in the spirit the word of God will be activated.
What is the word ?
God’s WORD can be viewed as his Principles, Promises and Prophecies
When we are in battle we call onto the Lord because he will answer us Jeremiah 33:3 3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know and His one with his WORD.
Numbers 23:19:
God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?
FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 1:1 - 18
The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”) 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and[b] is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
What does the bible say about God’s word.
Hebrew 4:12
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Question – Men of God – is the word of the Lord coming alive to you?
Jeremiah 15:6
6 When your words came, I ate them;
they were my joy and my heart’s delight,
for I bear your name,
Lord God Almighty.
Question – Men of God are we eating God’s word to the brim and preparing for battle?
Meditate on the word.
Once we eat God’s word we need to meditate on the word.
Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
Psalm 119:15
I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.
Psalm 119:97
Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.
Job 22:22
Receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.
Psalm 119:11
I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Proverbs 4:20-22
My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.
On the day of the battle and sharpening the battle axe
Pray in the spirit. When I say pray. Shut the door pray to the point your spirit man comes a live and you certainly don’t care or not even aware of the surrounding.
Once you get to this point. Start making declarations as the spirit is leading you because now you are in the prophetic phase. The word is alive now. whatever your spirit is picking is what the spirit has searched.
Start with your best scriptures: bring the sound of the Lord.
For me - Psalms 23, Jeremiah 33:3, Jeremiah 51:20, Mark 11:22 – 25, Galatians 6:17, Number 23:19.
You can pick your bible and go through Psalms as you dance, cry, spur in the spirit. This is because the word of the Lord has come to you.
At this point – if you were praying with your family – The explosion of the spirit at this stage is intense and powerful. Take turns to worship and make declarations in an orderly manner.
The word comes with instruction at this stage. You can go into silence or the heart will pick up the instructions. Example - Jeremian 1:11 - 14
The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?”
“I see the branch of an almond tree,” I replied.
12 The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching[b] to see that my word is fulfilled.”
13 The word of the Lord came to me again: “What do you see?”
“I see a pot that is boiling,” I answered. “It is tilting toward us from the north.”
14 The Lord said to me, “From the north disaster will be poured out on all who live in the land. 15 I am about to summon all the peoples of the northern kingdoms,” declares the Lord.
Example Daniel- When you are in the spirit your fear is zero.
Encouragement - Brother eat the word!
