Topic: LEADERS - ARE DOOR OPENERS
Content:
FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 16:11-23 (KJV)
One of the things that good and righteous leaders do is that they ensure fairness and justice. They take proper care of orphans, widows, the poor and vulnerable as well as the aged. They ensure that such people are not oppressed, deprived of sustenance or abused. They are the defenders of the weak and they demonstrate God’s love.
Also, godly leaders are door openers and helpers of destiny. They provide other people, young, weak and poor, the opportunities to fulfil their dreams and succeed in life. They lift others from insignificance to significance by the grace that God has given to them. For example, Prophet Samuel was a prominent spiritual leader in Israel. He was sent to anoint David as the next king of Israel after Saul. He did the assignment impressively. Thereafter, he served as a great mentor to David. He was truly a door opener for young David. The Bible affirms that from the day Samuel anointed David, the Spirit of God rested on him. David also sought Samuel’s counsel and protection when King Saul began to seek his life to destroy.
King Ahauserus was another leader that God used as a door opener for Esther, who rose from being an insignificant slave girl to become a queen in Shushan because the king preferred and chose her in the beauty contest. The same king could not sleep, one night, until he called for the book of remembrance and promoted Mordecai. The king opened the door of promotion, honour and greatness for Mordecai, Esther and, by extension, the Jews in his realm.
David was another leader who was greatly used by God to open doors for common men and lift them into significance. Joab, Abner and many valiant men of war became notable simply because they identified with David and joined his army. They came to be on the side of the Lord and they and their families got their histories rewritten positively.
Beloved, always pray that God should raise righteous leaders for nations, churches, families and organisations. Also pray fervently that God should grant you uncommon favour with your boss or leader and use him or her to open good doors for you, lift up your head and bless you tremendously.
