FIRE SCRIPTURE: Romans 12:1-2 (KJV)

 

Who is a living sacrifice? A living sacrifice refers to a life that is offered unto God, consecrated and set apart for His use, without blemish, holy and pleasing unto God. It refers to a living and a yielded vessel not a dead one!

 

Today, God no longer dwells in temples made by human hands. He has promised to dwell within us, His beloved children by His Spirit (2 Corinthians 6:16). God had earlier made this promise to the children of Israel, as stated in Ezekiel 37:27. It is now fulfilled in His children who are of the new covenant through Christ. As a Christian, therefore, your body is the temple of God in which the Spirit of God dwells. For the Holy Spirit to indwell a body, it must be kept holy, undefiled and consecrated to God. You must hate sin and should not engage in iniquity. Your life must not conform to the world and its vanities, as stated in 1 John 2:15-17. You must shun the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and pride of life.

A living sacrifice is the life that is totally surrendered to Christ, a crucified life. It refers to a genuinely born again child of God, who no longer lives his or her old life. One who can boldly declare like the Apostle Paul, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

 

Today’s Fire Scripture counsels that for us to be a living sacrifice, we should get transformed by renewing our mind. This involves an inward spiritual work that reflects outwardly. As a result, we shall be able to discern and do that which is “good, and acceptable and perfect will of God.” A living sacrifice is a Christian whose mind is daily renewed by the truth of the word of God, and his course charted by the same, so that he or she will be able to do the will of God. Only through God’s word and a life committed to Christ and righteous living can you be taught and led on the right path of life.

 

PRAYER POINTS:

 

1. Father Lord, make me Your dwelling place in the name of Jesus.

2. Enemies of God in my life, jump out and die, in the name of Jesus.

3. Powers assigned to defile my temple, you are liars, scatter and be terminated, in the name of Jesus.

4. Holy Spirit, enable me to grow my faith in Christ, in the name of Jesus.

5. ⁠Holy Spirit, purge me and cleanse me with Your fire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Hunger for the word of God and power for fervent prayer, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.

7. My God and my Father, convert me to Your living sanctuary and make me the sacrifice, in the name of Jesus.
