GIVE NO ROOM TO OFFENCES.
Content:
The Acts 24:16 This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.
We were raised in a home where Dad always told us to forgive people in advance. Dad told us not to ever harbour offences in our hearts.
As a young kid I always marveled at the statement " forgive in advance", but it stuck in my psyche.
Dad told us he was using that statement to prepare us for global dimensions. I look back today to appreciate how revolutionary that statement was and still is.
Our advancement sometimes in life may be stalled through harbouring offences. It has been medically proven that unforgiveness and offences snowballs into bitterness, and that bitterness can lead to compass.
HOW DO WE DEAL WITH THIS.
Firstly, take the Highest Moral ground. David did this in 1st Samuel 24. That mindset led to a territorial advancement and kingdom pursuit. Your ability to let go of offences sets you up great conquests and advancement.
Secondly, we must always have an enlarged heart. Genesis 33. God gives an enlarged heart, but you must develop and build on this. An enlarged heart receives tremendous blessings from the Lord.
Finally, be generous when it comes to reconciliation. You have to be an advocate of reconciliation. Jesus told us not to hold offences in our hearts.Matthew 15 Vs 10-20.
As I conclude, I leave us with this take away from dad " If you pin someone to the ground, you are on the ground yourself" . That's what offences are like.
Let us pray.
Blessings.
Prayer Points:
Psalms 55:12 For it is not an enemy who reproaches me;
Then I could bear it.
Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me;
Then I could hide from him.
Psalms 55:13 But it was you, a man my equal,
My companion and my acquaintance.
Psalms 55:14 We took sweet counsel together,
And walked to the house of God in the throng.
