INTERCESSION (THE WORD WITHOUT FEAR)

Content:

Philippians 1:12-14,21 (NKJV) But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

1. While it is not desirable for Christians to face death through persecution, the reality of God’s kingdom is that believers will continue to experience persecution, and some may even die for the sake of the gospel.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Matthew 24:9 Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

PRAYER: We pray for the grace to persevere in the face of challenges.

2. Those who persecute the Church are merely instruments in the hands of principalities, powers, and rulers of this world. The battle goes beyond geography, politics, religion, or ideology. The real issue is not the outward content of ‘free speech’ but the spirit behind it. If we are to prevail, the argument must first be won in the spirit before it can be seen in the natural.

II Corinthians 10:3-6 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

PRAYER: We bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

3. One of the hidden gains of the Church in seasons of persecution is the emergence of bold, Spirit-driven evangelists—men and women who, like Paul, turn their encounter with Christ into unstoppable, impactful witness. What the enemy meant to silence the Church often becomes the seedbed for its greatest voices.

Acts 26:14-17 And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you.

PRAYER: Father, in a time like this, make ministers and witnesses of Paul's kind in all nations.
