LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES FROM JUDGES 6 - 7
Content:
*Leadership Principles from Judges 6–7*
🍀1. Leaders are Called Before They Feel Ready
Text: “The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.” (Judges 6:12)
Gideon didn’t see himself as a leader — but God named his destiny before he acted.
Principle:
> Leadership begins with God’s call, not self-confidence.
Marketplace/Ministry: Don’t wait until you “feel ready.” Step forward when God calls; readiness grows in obedience.
🍀2. Leaders Confront Their Own Fear First
Text: Gideon was afraid, asked for multiple signs, and tore down Baal’s altar at night (Judges 6:27).
Principle:
> Leaders wrestle with fear privately before they can lead publicly.
Marketplace/Ministry: Address inner insecurities, doubts, or idols. Private courage fuels public leadership.
🍀3. Leaders Build by Obedience, Not Opinion
Text: God reduced the army from 32,000 → 300 (Judges 7:2–7).
Gideon obeyed even though it looked foolish.
Principle:
> True leadership isn’t swayed by popular opinion but anchored in God’s direction.
Marketplace/Ministry: Sometimes you must cut complexity, downsize, or pivot strategy — even if it defies conventional wisdom.
🍀4. Leaders Inspire Courage in Others
Text: Gideon shared the dream he overheard in the Midianite camp, saying, “Arise, for the LORD has given the host of Midian into your hands.” (Judges 7:15)
His words shifted the army from fear to faith.
Principle:
> Leaders don’t just act; they inspire belief.
Marketplace/Ministry: Your language and attitude set the tone for teams. Vision leaks without consistent encouragement.
🍀5. Leaders Leverage What They Have
Text: Gideon armed the 300 with trumpets, jars, and torches (Judges 7:16).
Principle:
> Leaders maximise available resources instead of lamenting what they lack.
Marketplace/Ministry: Great leaders innovate — they find ways to use “small” tools (relationships, stories, creativity) to create big results.
🍀6. Leaders Model Humility and Dependency
Text: Gideon’s victory was designed so Israel couldn’t boast (Judges 7:2).
Principle:
> Leaders acknowledge God as the true source of success.
Marketplace/Ministry: Leaders who remain humble, give credit, and deflect glory sustain influence far longer than those who build egos.
🍀7. Leaders Multiply, They Don’t Just Maintain
Text: After the 300 broke through, the rest of Israel joined the pursuit (Judges 7:23).
Principle:
> Leaders create momentum others can join — they don’t do it all alone.
Marketplace/Ministry: Leadership is not hoarding responsibility but multiplying impact through others.
