THE POWER AND THE GLORY - Gideons Strategy
Zechariah 4:6
Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord
The belief is that to survive in this world one must be tough and strong, but the Lord says “not by might nor by power, but by my spirit
What God calls us to do cannot be done through our own strength — it requires His presence and empowerment.
It’s a message of encouragement to those who face challenges that seem impossible.
God may be calling you to rebuild something ,your life, your ministry, your relationship, your family
“You will succeed, not because of what you can do, but because of what the Spirit of God will do through you.”
1 Chronicles 29:11
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.
We are reminded that all we have and all that we accomplish is from the Lord. Everything that we have exist because of His grace. He alone deserves the glory.
God is the true source of greatness, power, and blessing.
When we acknowledge His ownership and authority, we experience peace knowing that the same God who reigns over heaven and earth is guiding our lives with love and a purpose.
Judges 7-7
The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.”
The message is that with God, the impossible becomes possible, and the victory comes through faith and obedience, not human strength. God wants to receive all the glory, so He chooses to work in ways that clearly demonstrate His power.
Gideon started with an army of 32000 men
But God reduced first to 10000 then to just 300 men, why ? so they could never boast that victory was by their own strength.
GODS STRATEGY WITH GIDEON
Less reliance on numbers
Unusual weapons (trumpets)
Total dependence on God’s Power
(A spiritual battle plan)
The lesson for us is
1 . Start with a call, not with numbers
God does not need crowds to move, he needs willing, obedience hearts.
2 . Remove fear and distractions
Fear contaminates faith. Distractions weakens spiritual focus.
Before any spiritual battle we need to examine our heart, let go of fear and doubt, surround yourself with those who will stand in faith with you.
3 . Embrace Gods Strategy
Sometimes Gods strategies may not look logical but they carry his power.
We must be open to spiritual direction.
Soak yourself in prayer and worship.
4 . Shine the light in darkness
Don’t hide your light.
Let God’s Glory be revealed through your weakness. Testify boldly even in your darkest moments.
5 . Lift the sound of victory
Victory is declared in faith before it is seen.
Use your voice, declare victory with his word , speak faith over your situation.
6 . Remember the battle is the Lords.
In Gideon’s story the enemy turned on each other in panic- the battle was won by the spirit of the Lord
Don’t lean on your own strength, pray, worship and trust and watch the Lord at work.
What matters is not the size of what we have, but the size of the God we serve. He can turn a small beginning into a mighty deliverance. God can use you with a simple act of Faith to reach out to the unsaved with acts of kindness to bring them to his kingdom and also reach out to men in your circle
Like Gideon we can shift from self confidence to God confidence.
Gideon’s story begins in weakness, not strength. He is threshing wheat in a winepress, trying to stay hidden from the Medianites. This is a picture of fear and survival, not victory and courage. Through the situation he was in despair, discouraged, the angel of the Lord appears declaring words that might not have made sense to him. “The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valour”
Gods strategy may not make sense in our eyes, but it brings supernatural victory.
MAGH will you allow your situation to define you or will you turn to God’s word to tell you who you really are, even when it contradicts how you see yourself.
Prayer Points:
PRAYER
Allow God to use small things to bring about great breakthrough.
Lord yours is the power and the glory forever. Forgive us when we lean on our own strength. Like Gideon, we surrender to your strategy even when it does not make sense.
Let us believe what you say we are and not fear or failure, fill us with faith to know you are with us
