THE FOUR THINGS TO CONTEND FOR TO RISE
“In this Kingdom, we fight to rise.”
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” — Matthew 11:12 (NKJV)
Spiritual elevation does not happen by accident. In the Kingdom of God, rising is intentional and often resisted.
Every advancement attracts opposition, and every new level demands spiritual engagement. Scripture reveals that promotion is not merely about desire or gifting—it is about contention. Those who rise are those who understand the nature of resistance and partner with Heaven to overcome it.

“In this Kingdom, we fight to rise.”
The early saints, prophets, and kings did not ascend without warfare. From Daniel contending with the prince of Persia, to David pressing through levels of anointing, the pattern is clear: before elevation comes confrontation.
To rise, one must know what to contend for and how to engage God for victory.

Scriptural Examples:
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” — Matthew 11:12

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.” — Ephesians 6:12

“Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand… thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me…”— Daniel 10:12–13

These scriptures establish a foundational truth: spiritual ascent is contested, but victory is guaranteed when Heaven is engaged.

1. GATES TO OPEN — Territorial Resistance
“Every new territory is guarded. Elevation always attracts resistance.”
Definition:
Gates represent territorial strongholds—ancient spiritual powers that control regions, systems, families, industries, or seasons. Gatekeepers resist entry into new realms because they have ruled there for a long time and are stronger than human strength.
“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.” — Psalm 24:7
Isaiah 45:1–3 (NKJV)
“Thus says the LORD to His anointed,
To Cyrus, whose right hand I have held—
To subdue nations before him…
To open before him the double doors,
So that the gates will not be shut…
I will break in pieces the gates of bronze
And cut the bars of iron.”
This passage reveals that only God can break ancient gates. Gates of bronze and bars of iron symbolize systems and resistance no human strength can overcome.
Key Truth:
When gates refuse to open, Heaven must intervene.
Prayer Focus:
“Lord, go before me. Break ancient gates, dismantle territorial resistance, and grant me access to the realms You have ordained for me.”

2. DOORS TO OPEN — Access and Authorization
“Gates control territory, but doors control access.”
Definition:
Doors represent people, systems, and authorities that grant access to destiny spaces. These are doorkeepers—individuals God positions to open pathways into influence, opportunity, and purpose.
“I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it.” — Revelation 3:8
Biblical Example:
Joseph and the Cupbearer — Genesis 40–41
Joseph had the gifting, interpretation, and wisdom, but he needed a door-opener to access Pharaoh. When the door opened, Joseph rose in a single day.
Key Truth:
Skill without access delays destiny. God uses people to open doors.
Prayer Focus:
“Father, connect me to divine doorkeepers. Let every door ordained for my rising open without delay.”

3. WINDOWS OF OPPORTUNITY — Divine Timing and Favor
“You can have access and still miss opportunity if the window remains shut.”
Definition:
Windows represent opportunities, visibility, and divine timing. A person may be prepared, skilled, and positioned, yet advancement stalls because opportunity has not yet manifested.
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse… and see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing.” — Malachi 3:10
Practical Example:
A business may be established, staffed, and resourced—yet customers do not come. This is not a gate or door issue, but a window issue.
Key Truth:
Windows require corporate prayer and divine alignment.
Prayer Focus:
“Lord, open the windows of opportunity over my life. Let visibility, favor, and divine timing converge for my advancement.”

4. ANOINTING FOR THE NEXT LEVEL — Capacity to Sustain Elevation
“God does not merely open levels—He anoints you to survive, lead, and reign there.”
Definition:
Every new level requires a new measure of anointing. Without it, promotion becomes pressure and elevation becomes collapse.
Biblical Example:
David’s Progressive Anointing
Anointed before his brothers — 1 Samuel 16:13
Anointed king over Judah — 2 Samuel 2:4
Anointed king over all Israel — 2 Samuel 5:3
“But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.” — Psalm 3:3
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the LORD of hosts. — Zechariah 4:6
Key Truth:
Anointing determines access, endurance, and authority.
Prayer Focus:
“Father, anoint my head afresh for the level You are taking me into. Be the lifter of my head, surround me with Your glory, and clothe me with the oil required to reign where You are leading me.”
Declaration:

“The LORD is my shield and my lifter. I rise by His Spirit, sustained by His anointing, and established in His purpose.”
