 Authority & Application

 Lessons from Jeremiah 1–3

Many men today carry silent pressure — to lead, provide, stay strong, remain disciplined, and still pursue God faithfully.

Jeremiah 1–3 reminds us that God does not release authority for admiration — He releases authority for application.

🔹 Jeremiah 1 — Called Before Feeling

ReadyJeremiah felt unqualified, insecure, and afraid, yet God still called him.

 Jeremiah 1:5-8 NLT
 "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." [6] "O Sovereign LORD," I said, "I can't speak for you! I'm too young!" [7] The LORD replied, "Don't say, 'I'm too young,' for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. [8] And don't be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the LORD, have spoken!"

Many men wait until they feel confident before obeying God, but obedience often comes before confidence.

God is not looking for perfect men — He is looking for available men.

✅ Key Lesson:God qualifies the men He calls.

🔹 Jeremiah 2 — The Danger of Drifting

Israel did not abandon God overnight. They drifted gradually through compromise, distraction, and misplaced dependence.

 “They have abandoned me—the fountain of living water…” — Jeremiah 2:13

Men often drift quietly through busyness, pride, emotional isolation, and spiritual neglect.

Anything that replaces intimacy with God will eventually leave a man empty.

✅ Key Lesson:Misaligned priorities weaken spiritual authority.

🔹 Jeremiah 3 — The Call to Return

Even after failure and compromise, God still calls His people back.

 “Return home, you wayward children…” — Jeremiah 3:14

One of the enemy’s greatest lies is: “You’ve gone too far.”

But God’s response is still:“Return.”

Real strength is not pretending to have no weaknesses. Real strength is humility before God.

✅ Key Lesson:Restoration realigns men with God’s purpose.

🔥 Main Insight — From Authority to Application

God does not simply call men to receive revelation. He calls men to apply what He has spoken.

Application is where:

* Authority is tested
* Obedience is proven
* Character is revealed
* Heaven becomes visible through behaviour

 “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” — James 1:22
