Heb‬ â€12‬:â€1‬-â€2‬ â€NKJV‬‬: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Introduction
When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. For men, the abuser may include people/ systems, the enemy, or man himself.
The God-Man partnership was never in doubt
â€â€Psalms‬ â€115‬:â€16‬ â€TPT‬‬: “The heavens belong to our God; they are his alone, but he has given us the earth and put us in charge.”

- Abraham Gen15:5

What is Set before Us
What is set before us relate to that thing (or set of things) which when fulfilled, the Master says to the individual: “well done, good and faithful servant …”
â€â€Matthew‬ â€25‬ NKJV‬‬: “(14-15) For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. (19-21) After a long time the Lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His Lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.’
There are other characters in the story regarding what is set before us: (1) God (the Holy Spirit) and His angels; (2) The enemy (and his agents), (3) Other people
The matter of settling the matter of what is set before us calls for translation process (1Cor‬ â€9‬:â€26‬; Jn1:14). Like Jacob’s wrestling: “I’ll not let you go unless you bless me” (Gen32:26).
Translating What is Set
I John‬ â€1‬:â€1‬-â€4‬ â€NKJV‬‬: “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”
