Psalms 20
May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of the God of Jacob defend you;
May He send you help from the sanctuary,
And strengthen you out of Zion;
May He remember all your offerings,
And accept your burnt sacrifice.
Selah
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.
We will rejoice in your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners!
May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
They have bowed down and fallen;
But we have risen and stand upright.
Save, LORD!
May the King answer us when we call."
1. Divine Help in Times of Trouble
Psalm 20:1–2
“May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble… May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion.”

* Psalm 46:1 — God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
* Psalm 50:15 — Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you.
* Isaiah 41:10 — Do not fear, for God will strengthen, help, and uphold you.
Prayer:
Father, answer us in every day of trouble. Send us divine help and strengthen us where we are weak, discouraged, or overwhelmed. Let Your name defend and preserve us, in Jesus’ name.
2. Divine Protection and Defence
Psalm 20:1
“May the name of the God of Jacob defend you.”

* Proverbs 18:10 — The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
* Psalm 91:9–10 — No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.

Prayer:
Lord, let Your name be our strong tower and defence. Protect our families, homes, businesses, ministries, health, and destinies from every attack of the enemy.
3. Strength from God’s Presence
Psalm 20:2
“May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion.”

* Isaiah 40:31 — Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength.
* Psalm 84:7 — They go from strength to strength.
* Philippians 4:13 — I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Prayer:
Father, renew our strength. Empower us physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Help us to rise above weariness and continue faithfully in every assignment You have given us.
4. Remembrance of Our Service and Sacrifices
Psalm 20:3
“May He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice.”

Prayer:
Lord, remember every prayer, sacrifice, offering, act of service, and seed of obedience. Let nothing we have done for Your kingdom be in vain. Bring forth a harvest in the appointed season.
