 Text: Luke 18:2-7

Praying is a spiritual activity that every Christian should constantly engage in. It is a communication between God the father and we his children, through his only son and with the support of the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we should not be weary of praying so that we do not become a prey of the devil. The bible says that we should pray without ceasing (1Thess 5:17)

The concept of P.U.S.H is a product of the ASK concept which is derived from the book of Matt 7:7 " *A* sk, and it will be given to you; *S* eek, and you will find; *K* nock, and it will be opened to you". The passage went on to say that "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." In our text for today, the widow kept pushing to the point that the Judge was going to start getting wearied. This analogy given by Jesus Christ serves as a template for Christians on how to *P.U.S.H*. Jacob held to the angel, saying, “I will not let you go until you bless me." Gen 32:26. Blind Bartimaeus didn't stop PUSHing until Jesus heard him and stopped to heal him of blindness

I once heard a testimony of a church, which was served a notice of demolition by the local council. The church building had encroached on the setback (council's portion of the block), and as such, the church will either move their building or the council demolishes the encroaching portion of the building. As the former approach is not possible humanly speaking (but with God all things are possible), the latter option was the only available option. The prayer warriors of the church gathered and started 7 days fasting and prayer using Matt 17:20 to pray that the mountain (church building) should move backwards. On the 7th day, all of them came out and started praying while physically pushing the building backwards and to the glory of God and amazement of the team, the building had moved backwards by the exact encroaching measurement after their prayers.

*Why do people get tired of pushing?*

1. *Unbelief*
When the disciples couldn't cast out the demon in the boy in Matt 17, they asked Jesus why they couldn't, and he told them it is because of their unbelief. He went on to say that if they had faith as small as a mustard seed, they would move mountains.

2. *Fear*
The bible says in Matt 14:30, "But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!"

3. *Doubt/Frequently changing prayer request* James 1:6-8 says "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways"

If we are to PUSH, we must overcome these three impeding factors, and this morning, we shall be praying against them.
