Topic:  EVEN THOU I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH

Content:

 *Psalm 23:4*

*Sciophobia*: A strong dislike or fear of shadows

*Monday*: Pray Until Something Something Happens (Bro Adesegun) - Relentlessly chasing God.
*Tuesday*: I Press: The two important words in achieving God’s vision and destiny for our life.
*Wednesday*: Same Outcome (Bro Eddy) - How God uses the duplex nature of grace and abundance on the one hand; and trials and challenges on the other to craft the best version of us.
*Thursday*: Mighty Men of Valour (Minister Mike) - God's rigorous vetting process of becoming chosen warriors.

*Psalm 23:4* - “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

While for some, this devotion might invoke the resolve to *claim* your territory; for others, it might activate you to *reclaim* the territory you lost or was taken away from you. Either way, pay attention, because fear is not an option in this mission we are embarking on. More than just mere classification, the “Fearful and Afraid,” the “Willing but Inexperienced” and the “Chosen Warriors” in the narrative of Gideon in Judges 6 can also be stages believers progress through before they become soldiers.

*Need to understand the prophetic speakings of God*
The prophetic speakings of God is:
1. His way of declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done.
2. Giving life to the dead and calling into existence the things that do not exist
3. With the outcome that what is seen is not made out what is visible

To *Joshua*, He said in *Joshua 1:4-6* - “From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so *I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you*. Be strong and of good courage, *for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them*.”

Do you notice the spiritual protocol? You need the guarantee of His Presence before you launch into battle. You cannot achieve this battle in the arm of flesh. Secondly, God’s mercy is plenteous during seasons of abundance and His grace is everlasting during periods of trials and tribulations.

Prayer Points:

 *Prayer Point 1*

Father, I obtain the grace that neutralises doubt and discouragement. Help me to keep Your life-giving word close to my heart.

To *Gideon*, He said in *Judges 6:12,14* - “ And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “*The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!*” Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and *you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites.*”

*Prayer Point 2*
Father, help me understand Your prophetic speakings and align myself with what You have ordained for my destiny. Help me to see what You see in me through the eyes of faith.

*David*’s revelation in *Psalm 23:4* -“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

You may be currently in the valley, and the valley is very dark and dreadful as death itself. But if you have been paying attention, you can see that David’s expression in this defining moment is incredible:

1. David did not recall running or fleeing through the valley, he said, “…though I walk through..”
2. David walked through the valley of the shadow of death and feared no evil. He had the revelation that as “a shadow is just that a shadow.” A shadow cannot put you to death, it is often the fear of the shadow that has the potential to kill. The shadow of a serpent, a sword, or a scorpion cannot kill.
3. David could walk through the valley of the shadow of death and feared no evil because God’s Presence with him.

Gentlemen, don’t be caught in the valley of the shadow of death without *God’s Presence as your Guarantor*. Therefore, today is the day you resolve to not allow the fear of shadows to keep you from claiming the territory God has apportioned to you. Resolve to live out your destiny courageously so that Jesus be revealed and God be glorified in your life, your ministry, career, relationships and church.

He has assured you that His Presence will comfort and guide you through the valley dark and dirty. The path to the table God has prepared for you is through the valley. You will be celebrated in the presence of all the challenges and trials that have worked against you in the past.

*Prayer Point 3*
Father, I thank You for the assurance of Your Presence in my life. Let Your rod and Your staff comfort and guide me through the valley as I prepare to access the table You have prepared for me. I thank You in advance.
