*Exodus 20:24*

“You shall make an *altar* of earth for Me, and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause My Name to be recorded and remembered [through revelation of My divine nature] I will come to you and bless you.”

 

*Luke 22:18-20*

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”  And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”

 

The primary goal of “*doing this in remembrance of Me*” is to bring God unto the scene and to invoke His blessings.

 

This means activities on the earthly altar can initiate and trigger a spiritual response in heaven. In other words, there exists a portal between the earthly and the heavenly realm.

 

The secondary goal is as a reminder, because you can forget, and hence continue to suffer loss and fail to live up to your potential.

 

Father, I close the portals and access of the kingdom of darkness in my life, ministry, areas you have given me to supervise in the marketplace. I declare I operate under open heavens. IJN

 

Having established the assignment of altars here on earth, *Revelations 8:3* is one of several scriptures that helps us understand that there are altars also in heaven. 

 

It reads, “Another angel came and stood at *the altar*, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the sins on the *golden altar* which was before the throne.”

 

*Two things are requisite to the operation an altar*:

- A minister (e.g., a priest or High Priest), who officiates and enforces the pronouncement of the altar

- Sacrifice, a requirement 

 

*Hebrews 8:1*

“Now the main point of what we have to say is this: we have such a *High Priest*, [the Christ] who is seated [in the place of honor] at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty (God) in heaven, a *Minister* (Officiating Priest) in the holy places and in the true tabernacle, which is erected not by man, but by the Lord.”

 

*Hebrews 4:16*

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that *we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need*.”

 

*Prayer Point*

Father, in the name of Jesus, in every area of weakness, I obtain mercy and find grace in time of need today.

 

*The two dimensions of Jesus’ ministry in heaven*

- Advocate within a Heavenly legal system

- High Priest within a Covenant system

 

*What are the Requirements of the Altar*

*1 Samuel 7*

3 “Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, *remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth (pagan goddesses) from among you* and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him only; and *He will rescue you from the hand of the Philistines.*”

 

9 “So Samuel *took a nursing lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering* to the Lord; and Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel and the Lord answered him.”

 

Foreign gods are representatives of strange allegiances, trust in men or idols etc. Not until these strange elements are removed, the believer is not ready for the Lord’s deliverance.

 

*What is the assignment of the Altar?*

“Provides a platform where a believer can engage heaven and call on the name of the Lord recognising and acknowledging the Lord’s broken body (signified by the bread) and His shed blood (signified by the wine).”

 

For physical death to be consummated, the body needs to be broken for blood to be shed.

 

*Prayer Point*

Father, I commune with Christ as I engage with His broken body and His shed blood today. I receive every blessing associated with provision on their altar.

 

*Psalm 23:5*

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

 

The Lord’s Table is an altar.

 

*Communion Confession*

Father, I decree and declare that concerning every legal access or hold Satan has over my life, my destiny, I invoke the blood of Jesus and I declare yokes and activities of ancestry be broken for ever IJN.

 

In the name of Jesus, covenants of delay, covenant of untimely death, covenants of retrogression and failure, by the blood of the Jesus Christ I declare be broken now. Ordinances of fathers that may be tying down my destiny be broken now. I declare I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

 

Seasons of shame, of embarrassment, or of reproach come to an end in my life now in the name of Jesus Christ.

 

Every resource, mantle, opportunity, relationship that has left me but should not have left, by the blood of Jesus, by the power in the name of Jesus, I reclaim them back into my destiny IJN.

 

Every spirit of the waster: infirmities, sicknesses, and diseases I challenge you by the power in the blood, leave my body right now in the name of Jesus Christ.

 

I declare patterns, cycles of negative and unusual occurrences, by the blood of Jesus Christ, come to an end in my life IJN.

 

I sanctify by the blood of Jesus Christ my visions, dreams, and prophetic experiences. I declare no more manipulations by the enemy.

 

I receive every blessing provided at this altar this morning IJN.
