Patterns are repeated occurrences in the life of a believer that he may or may not be aware of.

 

The assignment of patterns is perpetuation, possession, and preservation of a human state of affairs by altars and systems.

 

*Genesis 1:28*

"And *God blessed them* and said to them, Be *fruitful, multiply*, and *replenish* the earth, and *subdue* it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have *dominion* over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth."

 

*The blessing* of the Lord empowers and helps a believer to build capacity for fruitfulness, multiplication, and dominion.

 

*John 15:8*

Herein is My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be My disciples.

 

*John 15:2-4*

"Every branch *in me* that *does not produce* fruit *he removes*, and he prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.

 

You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in Me, and I in you. *Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine*, so neither can you unless you remain in Me"

 

Hence, a believer can abide in God yet not fruitful. How? By violating principles, not applying faith and patience to obtain promises, and disregarding or dishonouring prophecies.

 

Father, grant me the spiritual knowledge and understanding to agree with God’s principles, promises and prophecies; and to also align myself with heaven in order to walk in the reality of your blessings.

"None shall cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land; the number of thy days I will fulfill."

 

*Number 23:19*

"God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken, and shall He not make it good?"

 

*Pattern of Barrenness*

 

*3 generations of barrenness in spite of 'The Blessing.'*

 

*Sarai*

*Genesis 11:29-30*

"Abram and Nahor took wives for themselves. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai (later called Sarah), and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah and Iscah. 30 But Sarai was barren; she did not have a child."

 

*Rebekah*

*Genesis 25:21*

"And Isaac *prayed* to the Lord for his wife, *because she was barren*. And the Lord *granted* his prayer, and Rebekah his wife *conceived*."

 

During the difficult pregnancy, Rebekah received a prophecy about the future relationships between, and destinies of, her unborn children. She was told that her two sons would become two nations and that the older would serve the younger.

 

*Rachel*

*Genesis 30:1*

When Rachel saw that she was not bearing Jacob any children, she became jealous of her sister. So she said to Jacob, “Give me children, or I’ll die!”

 

Patterns are not limited to barrenness. It may include failed relationships, divorce, financial ruin, lack or poverty, addiction, misfortune, illness or medical issues, untimely death, and any specific failure.

 

*Colossians 1:7-10*

Also, he has informed us of your *love in the Spirit*.

For this reason, we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [special] request for you, asking that *you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things* - 

 

That you may walk (live and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please in all things, *bearing fruit in every good work* and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition."

 

So you need *discernment to recognise patterns* and to become aware of what principles you may be violating and prophecies you may be dishonouring.
