The Bible is a compendium of promises, principles, and prophecies.
*Factors that can abort your results or harvest*
Faithlessness and impatience will stifle the realisation of God’s promises
Violation of God’s principles
Disregard of prophecies or dishonour of God.
One of the most powerful principles in the scripture regarding harvests is found in:
*Galatians 6:2-7*
“Carry one another’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the requirements of the law of Christ [that is, the law of Christian love]. For if anyone thinks he is something [special] when [in fact] he is nothing [special except in his own eyes,] he deceives himself. But each one must carefully scrutinise his own work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behaviour], and then he can have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable without comparing himself to another. For every person will have to bear [with patience] his own burden [of faults and shortcomings for which he alone is responsible].
Do not be *deceived,* God is not *mocked* [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for *whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap.*”
God has set this principle in motion. His power sponsors and ensures the fruition of the harvest.
You can mock a man based on the limitations he is subject to. These constraints may include ignorance, flawed character, lack of understanding, limited resources, inability to sponsor the possibilities he desires in his or others’ life. But God is not mocked, because God is not a man.
*Undergirding Principle of Seed-time and Harvest time*
*Genesis 8:22*
“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
A few points to note
1. You can program the harvest you want if you can determine the seed to plant.
*Prayer Point*
*Galatians 2:7*
“Whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap.”
*DISCERNMENT*: Father, help me identify what seed I need to plant to have my desired harvest IJN.
2. How do you identify a good soil that would nurture your seed in order to produce a crop - a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown?
Other soils: Along the path where the birds came and ate it up; a rocky place where the seed did not have much soil; others that fell among thorns which grew up and choked the plants (Matthew 13).
3. Be mindful of disabling conditions that may sponsor the fruitlessness of your seed. E.g., weeds competing for nutrients with the plants.
Prayer Points:
*Prayer Point*
*Romans 9:16*
“So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.”
*MERCY*: Father, let your favour and mercy cause my seed to bring forth a bountiful harvest of righteousness.
4. The principle is applicable to any man, not just a believer, a pastor, a prophet, or an intercession. Unbelievers understand this o principle and have advantage of it.
5. ‘Whatever’ includes good or bad, carnal or spirit
6. “Do not be deceived” Do not think you can manipulate this principle
7. God is not mocked…means you cannot sow carnal, bad, wicked seed and expect to reap eternal life, good fruit, or righteousness respectively.
8. Every man is a farmer. We are all in the business of sowing. It just depends on what you are sowing.
9. Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap if we do not give in. You can sow in good soil, yet fail to reap a harvest if:
a) You grow tired or impatient with the process
b) Lose courage or faith in the principle of seedtime and harvest time
c) Give up totally
*Prayer Point*
*Isaiah 40:31*
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not weary; and they shall walk and not faint.”
*GRACE*: Father, grant me the grace to walk and not faint, to run and not be weary, to wait on you.
