One of the great qualities possessed by the great warriors of all time - David’s men, Gideon’s 300, the Apostles, Samurai fighters, stealthy Ninjas, relentless gladiators, US Delta Force, Israel’s Sayeret Matkal, British Army’s Special Air Service etc. - is *fearlessness*.
*Joshua 1:8* - “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; *do not be afraid*, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (NKJV)
*Psalm 23:4* - “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, *I fear no evil*, for You are with me…”
*Reflections*
1. How could Daniel face lions in the lions’ den?
2. How could the three Hebrew boys refuse to bow and face a fiery furnace?
3. How could John, Jesus Christ’s disciple rather be extradited to the Isle of Patmos to die?
4. How could the early Christians bear to be thrown into the Colosseum to devoured by wild animals?
Several times in the New Testament, Jesus told his disciples, “*Do not be afraid*.”
After Jesus calmed the storm in *Mark 4:35-41*, his first words to the disciples were “*Why are you so afraid?*”

"Fear will de-activate the power and resources that has been made available to you in God.”
“*It is natural to fear, but under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, fear can be tamed*.”
1. What made Elijah to face an evil dictator at the head of a system and institution?
2. What made David, a warrior, face an opposition like no other?
3. “What are you afraid of? What is the object of your fear?”

*How can you begin to become fearless?*
*1. By becoming more aware of the PRESENCE of the Lord*.
*Elijah faced Ahab*

*1 Kings 17:1*- “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel liveth, *before whom I stand*, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except according to my word.”

*Elisha faced the king of Aram*

*2 Kings 6:15-17* - “When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “*Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.*”
And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
*David was one of the greatest warriors in the Old Testament*

*Psalm 118:6*- “*The Lord is with me: therefore I will not fear what man can do unto me*.”

Prayer Points:
*Prayer point 1*
Father, I activate the grace to intentionally meditate on Your Word so I can increasingly become aware of and be conscious of Your presence.

*Joshua 1:8-9* - “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. *Do not be afraid*; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

*God’s plan is for you to have dominion in life. Fear will keep you from having it.*

*2. God’s Integrity*
God spoke to Jacob
*Genesis 12:13-15* - “And behold, the Lord stood above it [the ladder in Jacob’s dream] and said, “I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father and the God of Isaac: The land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.
And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west and to the east, and to the north and to the south; and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
And behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.”

*Prayer point 2*

Father, I activate the grace to trust Your word and Your integrity.

*Numbers 23:19* - “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

*3. Your Conviction*

*Romans 4:21* - “Abraham was fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised.”
*Prayer point 3*

Father, I activate the grace to become fully persuaded and fully convinced of Your calling, Your assignment and Your power available to you.
