2 Corinthians 1:3-4 - “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, affliction or tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
Prophecy: There are men on this platform undergoing unique and challenging experiences such that should be rarely seen among intercessors. I (God) am taking them through a training that will make them become master over what was designed to destroy them, and thereby teach others too.
Comfort (Parakaleó): to exhort, to encourage (to infuse with courage).
1. God of all comfort: Acquaint yourself with the nature and the character of God.
Judges 6:11-12 - “Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.
12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!””
Joshua 1:7 - “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do [great exploits] according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.”
2. Who comforts us in all our troubles: He encourages you to have personal victory.
Judges 6:25-26, 28 - “Now it came to pass the same night that the Lord said to him, “Take your father’s young bull, the second bull of seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the wooden image that is beside it;
26 and build an altar to the Lord your God on top of this rock in the proper arrangement, and take the second bull and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the image which you shall cut down.
28 And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, there was the altar of Baal, torn down; and the wooden image that was beside it was cut down, and the second bull was being offered on the altar which had been built.”
The family altars in Israel was evidence of disobedience to God linked to Israel’s impoverishment (financial, health, relationship, business) under the servitude of the Midianites. There is a direct link between active altars and activity of darkness in households, businesses, or marketplace.
3. We may be able to comfort those who are in trouble: Your personal victory becomes a stepping stone for a global victory.
Judges 7:22-23 “When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the Lord set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; and the army fled to Beth Acacia, toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath.
23 And the men of Israel gathered together from Naphtali, Asher, and all Manasseh, and pursued the Midianites.”
Genesis 22:17 - “In blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.”
Action Plan
- Decide in your mind to trust God and allow Him to instruct you.
- ā Allow your heart to see what God sees and your mind to experience the feeling of victory over your current challenge.
- ā Increase the occurrence of behaviour and actions that move you towards the desired goal or victory.
Prayer Points:
Prayer Point
Father, I acknowledge You as my Lord and King as I acquaint myself with Your nature and character. Thank you because You are the God of all comfort and I receive Your comfort and encouragement in every area of challenge today IJN.
Prayer Point
Father, I receive the boldness and courage to tear down every altar that may be standing in my life and family. As I acknowledge the whole armour of God on me, every generational altar, bloodline altar, kinsmen altar, lineage altar, or ancestral altar is torn down and pulled apart with the word of God. I erect an altar of prayer and worship unto you my Father IJN
Prayer Point
Father, I thank You in advance for the victory I have in You. I take on the assignment You have assigned me with boldness and courage. Let my testimony of victory in You be a launch pad to encourage victory in other men too.
