“And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.

Colossians 1:12 NLT “..Always thanking the Father He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.

 

The revelation of this inheritance has changed the lives of people across.

* For Abraham this Spiritual inheritance came as a promise from God and He staked his very life on it. Galatians 3:18 “For if the inheritance could be received by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting God’s promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham as a promise.”

* For Moses this Spiritual inheritance was more than the promised Land, it was the presence of God Himself. Exodus 33:15 “And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.”

* For David this Spiritual inheritance is in God Himself. Psalms 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever”

* Peter said it the way it is in 1 Peter 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,.

* Our citizenship is in Heaven and that’s the location of our inheritance.

 We’re not citizens of Nigeria, Australia etc going to heaven but instead we’re citizens of heaven passing through earth. One one of these days we would have been and gone from here.

As we Journey along in our day today and rest of our pilgrimage here, Oh Lord help me keep my what on heavens time.

 

Prayer Point 2:

To show how serious God is about this inheritance we have in Him is, He has given us a down payment in the person of the Holy Spirit. 2Corinth 1:21-22 “And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” Let’s lean in to the warm embrace of the Holy Spirit who indwells within your heart and Thank God for how far He’s willing to go to assure us of the incredible privilege to be belong to His family.

 

Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ..”
