In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.

10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.

13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Traditionally, the Jews addressed God with reverence. However, Jesus introduced a revolutionary shift by revealing God as 'Father,' inviting us into an intimate, familial relationship.

Word-studies
Abbá – A term of endearment akin to "Father," reflecting a beloved child's affectionate and dependent relationship.

Patḗr – Father; one who imparts life and is committed to it; a progenitor, bringing into being to pass on the potential for likeness. (Refer to Genesis 1:26).

Why pray?
Prayer is the bridge between the spiritual and physical; bringing the influence of heaven down to earth, and establishing the will of the Father here on earth.

“Our Father in heaven”
> You just got upgraded into the most influential family in heaven and on earth
> Faith is required to step into this new world

The Power of Faith
“Faith is the initial quality in the heart of any man who essays to talk to the Unseen. He must believe, where he cannot prove…When faith ceases to pray, it ceases to live.” - E. M. Bounds

Our main concern is with our faith - the problems of its growth and the activities of its vigorous maturity. A faith which grasps and holds in its keeping the very thing it asks for, without wavering, doubt or fear - that is the faith we need - faith, such as is a pearl great price, in the process and practice of prayer.

Mark 11:23 - “And shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he says.”

> “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Receiving Our Sustenance
It is noteworthy that requisite to asking for our daily bread is the command to seek God’s kingdom come and His will established here on earth. This underscore Matthew 6:33 - “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things shall be added to it.”

> “Give us this day our daily bread”

Whatever is needed to strengthen and invigorate a believer is his/her daily bread. This applies to spiritual, psychological and physical needs.
