Isaiah 60:1-2 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you”

 

Colossians 1:13 “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son,”

Darkness is simply the absence of light, it thrives in the absence of light.

Gen 1:2-3 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” It’s like God saying , let there be “you and me”.

 

Matt 4:16 “the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.”

 

Rev 22:5 “There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.”

 

God has appointed us as beacons of lights in our homes, communities and nations. We meet some of God’s territorial beacons in our Vietnam Mission. One of the was a 85 year old woman.

 

Eph 5:14 ( Shine on me and through me today and always dear Lord Jesus)

“..Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

 

Prayer point 2: 

1 John 1:7( Help me Lord Jesus to daily walk in your light- walking in daily victory)

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

 

Prayer point 3: 

Isaiah 9:2 ( Dear God, let the people living in darkness around me see your light in me)

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.”
