1 Kings 17:1 - “And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”

 

> The revelation of who you stand before determines the conviction of your declaration.”

 

Three Dimensions of Standing - Understanding Your Positioning

1. Stand before God as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus…having a right standing with God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

2. Stand before the Lord as in waiting on Him to renew your strength so as to mount on wings as eagles. Isaiah 40:31

3. Stand before the King as in waiting to receive instruction, declare and carry out His judgement. 1Kings 17:1

 

The Institution called AHAB

1. The physical manifestations of Ahab's idolatry, such as the building of altars and temples for Baal, had tangible consequences for the nation. These actions provoked divine judgment, leading to droughts and famines, which had severe physical impacts on the people of Israel (1 Kings 17).

2. Ahab's spiritual legacy is one of profound apostasy and rebellion against God, serving as a stark warning for us as believers. Ahab's marriage to Jezebel and his subsequent promotion of Baal worship represented a significant departure from the worship of Yahweh. This idolatry not only alienated him from God but also led the entire nation astray, illustrating how a leader's spiritual direction can influence the masses.

3. The prophetic confrontations between Ahab and prophets like Elijah underscore the spiritual warfare between true worship and idolatry.

 

> Don’t become servants to the idols of your master.

Come against every system or idol contending with the enthronement and the worship of the true God in my life. IJN

 

Speak to Ahab and repair the altar God

  1 Kings 18:30 - Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” So all the people came to him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down….

Guard against these three things

1. The Ahab institution wants the altar of God to remain broken in your life, family, and nation. He sets up a parallel altar in your life at which he wants you to worship.

2. This institution takes advantage of doubt and confusion.

3. There is a domineering and manipulative force or system called Jezebel behind the institution called Ahab. The force of deception.
