The Discipline of Seeking

> Pursuit is the evidence of desire.

James 5:16b-17 - “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”

Jeremiah 29:11-13 - “11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

- You may be ignorant of God’s will and hence not seek it.
- You may know God’s will and yet not want it nor seek it.
- You will call - by going and praying to Me, I will listen to you.
- You will find - when you seek and search for Me with all your heart.

The Characteristics of Intercessors
- Seekers:…when you seek and search for me with all your heart, then you will find me

- Dwellers: …that I may dwell in the house.

- Watchers: …to behold the beauty of the Lord.

Habakkuk 2:1 - “[Oh, I know, I have been rash to talk out plainly this way to God!] I will [in my thinking] stand upon my post of observation and station myself on the tower or fortress, and will watch to see what He will say within me and what answer I will make [as His mouthpiece] to the perplexities of my complaint against Him.”

- Waiters: …to inquire in His temple.

Isaiah 40:31 - “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

4. Season of Sacrifice
