Topic: REIGNING IN LIFE
Content:
Romans 5:17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Life experiences have two extremes - the best and worst our experiences can present. In both of these extremes, and every other state of experiences in-between, Jesus Christ has provided a ride through for us to always reign over our situations. Such that in the best and worst of our experiences we're poised to praise and worship God.
I Thessalonians 5:16-22 points us to some disciplines or practices that are important for us to reign in life:
1. Rejoice always (NKJV), Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always) (AMPC);
2. Pray without ceasing (NKJV), Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly] (AMPC);
3. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (NKJV), Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will] (AMPC);
4. Do not quench the Spirit (NKJV), Do not quench (suppress or subdue) the [Holy] Spirit (AMPC);
5. Do not despise prophecies (NKJV), Do not spurn the gifts and utterances of the prophets [do not depreciate prophetic revelations nor despise inspired instruction or exhortation or warning](AMPC);
6. Test all things, Hold fast what is good (NKJV), But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast (AMPC);
7. Abstain from every form of evil (NKJV), Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be (AMPC).

1. Seeing the Invisible (2 Corinthians 4:16)
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2. (Romans 8:26) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
3. (Jeremiah 29:11) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord , thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
(Romans 8:28) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
4. (John 16:13) However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
5. (II Chronicles 20:20) So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.
(Hebrews 10:24-25) And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
6. (Galatians 6:9) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
7. (Psalm 1:1) BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.
