1 Corinthians 2:7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
1 Corinthians 2:8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Apostle Paul caused a lot of revolution with his immense and tremendous revelations. Paul sat under men like Gamaliel and drew from their wells and fountains of knowledge.
When he became an Apostle, he knew that the only way to decode and unravel mysteries was/is through the wisdom of God.
Paul had a few " Theophanic encounters" that enhanced his appetite for unravelling mysteries.
He probably learnt a lot from Solomon. Solomon was one man that unraveled so much.
1 Kings 3:5 At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you."
1 Kings 3:6 Solomon answered, "You have shown great kindness to your servant, my father David, because he was faithful to you and righteous and upright in heart. You have continued this great kindness to him and have given him a son to sit on his throne this very day.
1 Kings 3:7 "Now, LORD my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.
1 Kings 3:8 Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number.
1 Kings 3:9 So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?"
1 Kings 3:10 The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this.
1 Kings 3:11 So God said to him, "Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice,
1 Kings 3:12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.
1 Kings 3:13 Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for —both wealth and honor —so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings.
Three things that Solomon and Paul did that enabled them through wisdom to unravel mysteries.
1. Escape
2. Explore
3. Experience.
They both went on a journey.
2 Corinthians 12:1 I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord.
2 Corinthians 12:2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know —God knows.
2 Corinthians 12:3 And I know that this man —whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows —
2 Corinthians 12:4 was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell.
1 Kings 4:29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea-shore.
1 Kings 4:30 And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
1 Kings 4:31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all the nations round about.
1 Kings 4:32 And he spake three thousand proverbs; and his songs were a thousand and five.
1 Kings 4:33 And he spake of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall; he spake also of beasts, and of birds, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
1 Kings 4:34 And there came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
The ancients live a life that revolved around " tackling mysteries with wisdom.
May we be a generation that does the same.
