DEAD WORKS

Colossians 1:27 to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

What Christ in you can guarantee is the hope of glory. Christ in you cannot guarantee that your flesh will not perish or you undergo suffering in the flesh.

II Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

Romans 8:10-11 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The Holy Spirit is an instrument of dominion over our mortal bodies to overcome the perishing effect of sin.

Another instrument of dominion we have at our disposal is the blood of Jesus Christ shed on our behalf.

Hebrews 9:14
how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Dead works as defined by others:
Dead works – any attempt to find favour, earn acceptance or be made righteous before God by one's own effort, ability or willpower.
Dead works - are works done without faith.

Dead works as revealed to me:
Dead works are the works of our dead, resulting in negative bloodline traits reflected in our lives. You'll agree with me that the blood in us carries the genes of the generations before us. Genes are the basic unit of heredity passed from parent to child. God forbid that our forefathers and fathers were sold to the devil, and they worshipped and lived lives regulated by demons. The past works of such forebears can still find traces in our blood, resulting in cycles and patterns in our family trees, which continue to propagate into future generations.

Hebrews 12:24 and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we redemption through His blood the forgiveness of sins.

1 Corinthians 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
