Beyond having faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and love for the saints, Paul wrote from the prison to the church of Ephesus on three (3) broad themes in Ephesian 1: 18-19:

1. The hope of Christ's calling.
2. The riches of the glory of God's inheritance in the saints.
3. The exceeding greatness of God's power towards us who believe.

Paul also prayed for the Ephesian church that God will grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge Him, the eyes of their understanding being enlightened on all aspects of these three (3) themes.

The background information about the Ephesian church tells us that they had faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and loved the saints. One would think these two (2) Christian attributes were enough to keep the Ephesian church going and triumphant. But Apostle Paul wanted them to do more, pushing the boundaries in the face of cultural opposition and spiritual warfare. The Ephesian church faced opposition from the worshippers of Artemis, just as modern churches often encounter resistance from secular cultures and ideologies.

How much knowledge of these three (3) themes do we need to have until it becomes enough? The bible shows us to persevere in prayers just as Paul prayed for the Ephesian church in Ephesian 1:15-17, we study as Paul admonished Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15, and we meditate as God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8 until what God has sent His words to do in our lives are accomplished.

Ephesians 1:15-17
Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

In all three (3) scriptures, perseverance is required on our side until God's intention expressed through His word becomes apparent in our lives.
