“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecc 3:11
There is more to our lives than what we’re going through now. What God is doing in our lives is a for eternity.
When we look at things through the lens of eternity everything changes.
Our soul with us understanding this reality and that is why it understands the upward call to Pursue God.
We feel this urge for this pursuit in our hearts.
We hear the echoes of this longing in the hearts of men and women who have gone before us.
For David:
“My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. Psalm63:8.
For Abraham;
“For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Heb 11:10.
For Paul:
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” 2Tim 4:7
Prayer Points:
Prayer point: Desire, Pursuit and Delight
1. That God will awaken eternity in our hearts that the desire of our souls will be for His name and His kingdom Isaiah 26:8 “.. the desire of oursoul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.”
2. Strength for the Pursuit of God. “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.Heb 12:2
3. That God will bring us to this place where our souls will find its delight in God. Heaven and earth becomes one in our hearts. “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart” Ps 37:4
