Do you stand firm in the Word when confronted with subtle distortions of truth?
2. The Perception of Physical Senses and Human Desires
Genesis 3:6
"So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise…"
Reflection:
Are your desires and perceptions submitted to the authority of God’s Word, or do they lead you astray?
3. Human Intellect: The Temptation to Lean on Our Own Understanding
Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."
Reflection:
Do you humbly trust God's Word above your own reasoning and intellect?
As Hebrews 4:12 declares,
"For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
