EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER - EPHESIANS 1

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your [f]understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality[g] and [h]power and [i]might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
Knowledge of:
(i) the described (potential) exceeding great power of God, power that can be.
(ii) the demonstrated (kinetic) exceeding great power of God, power that is.
Hearing and doing. Hearing and faith
This exceeding power is explosive power: exceeding, tremendous, can shake heaven, earth, the sea and the dry land, It’s a power that:
Changes situations from one state to another: a power that resurrects.
Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new
Changes situations from one dimension to another: from mortal to immortal,
So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Changes situations from one level to another: Christ the servant to Christ the king,
God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this. Now he is exalted to the place of highest honour in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us
Changes situations from one timeframe to another: from temporary to eternity.
Our troubles are temporary, but our victories in Christ are permanent.
