John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

 

Isaiah 9:6-7 – “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

 

Spiritual Insights

 

I. The Gift

The greatest act of divine love is the gift of the Father’s only begotten Son, offered to reconcile humanity back to God. This Gift is immeasurable and eternal, continually blessing those who receive it.

 

Romans 8:32– “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

 

II. Access Point

God’s Gift is freely given, yet it must be personally received, deeply valued, and actively appropriated to transform the life of the recipient.

 

2 Peter 1:3 – “For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).”

 

III. The Threefold Purpose of the Gift

- Restoration of Life – Through the Son, we are granted eternal life, overcoming the power of death and separation from God.

- Restoration of Position – Believers are adopted into the family of God, restored to the honour of sonship and the privileges of divine inheritance.

- Restoration of Government – The rule and reign of God’s kingdom are established on earth, offering peace and justice to all who submit to His authority.

 

Mark 1:15 – “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

 

IV. Faith as the Key to Access the Gift

To partake fully in God’s provisions, one must approach Him in faith, for it is by faith that the promises of God are activated in our lives.

 

Hebrews 11:6 – “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

 

V. The Purpose of the Kingdom

The ultimate aim of this Gift is the establishment of God’s government and peace on earth, reflecting His will and order as it is in heaven.

 

Matthew 6:10 – “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
